It's so unfair that the nobles don't pay taxes, and get free land just because they made a vassal. I live with the Emperor and I still have to pay taxes. Aren't I above them in this feudal society? Now, I am questioning my level in society. Is the shogunate above me? Maybe I need to talk to the Emperor.
I know that the Daimyo have Samurai's to loan out and that's why they get free land, but why do the nobles. I AM A NOBLE TOO! I am part of the Fujiwara clan, the most powerful family, I should own land.

- I was born in 976, during the Heian period, My name- Murasaki- means "violet." I was born into the Fujiwara Clan. I wrote the first novel in the world, The Tale of Genji. It's kind of weird that I'm a writer because I'm female.Only men would get an education or be writers. But, my Great Grandfather was a poet, and so was my father- It's in my blood, I was married when I was twenty. My husband and I had a daugher in 999.
