I am isolated. I am on one of four islands off the coast of Asia. I have no contact with anyone on the mainland. I want to be a writer. I want to write stories based on real events. How will I be able to do that? I am so far from cultures that we admire and pay attention to. What do they do in those far off places? When I was a young girl my father told me that my brother would go places and I would not. I'm starting to feel that it's true. I may live on the biggest island, but to me it feels small.
Only sometimes does Japan have contact with China. But that's hardly ever. Sometimes we're happy sometimes we're mad. It's so hard to keep track, I just gave up. I am over it!
I want to write haiku's about nature elsewhere. I always write about the high mountains or the millions of people. What about the nature in China? What do they have there? Does it reflect aware? I hope to someday leave this island and go somewhere, anywhere.

- I was born in 976, during the Heian period, My name- Murasaki- means "violet." I was born into the Fujiwara Clan. I wrote the first novel in the world, The Tale of Genji. It's kind of weird that I'm a writer because I'm female.Only men would get an education or be writers. But, my Great Grandfather was a poet, and so was my father- It's in my blood, I was married when I was twenty. My husband and I had a daugher in 999. But then tradgedy struck, two years later in 1001, my husband died. Since then I have finished my novel and moved to the palace. I have climbed the social ladder. Many years ago, I was just a high class girl. Now I am a courtier!
