I am so excited. I am beginning to write a book. Well, a novel. My main character is a man named Genji. He was born a peasant but becomes a serious member of society. It is kind of like a soap opera. My book is soooooo long. There are 53 chapters and I'm still not done yet!
Genji is kind of a bachelor. He has many affairs and hangs out with many women. The crazy thing is that most of Genji's affairs, take place with women from outside of the court.
Basically my story is about this crazy guy and all of his crazy women!!!

- I was born in 976, during the Heian period, My name- Murasaki- means "violet." I was born into the Fujiwara Clan. I wrote the first novel in the world, The Tale of Genji. It's kind of weird that I'm a writer because I'm female.Only men would get an education or be writers. But, my Great Grandfather was a poet, and so was my father- It's in my blood, I was married when I was twenty. My husband and I had a daugher in 999. But then tradgedy struck, two years later in 1001, my husband died. Since then I have finished my novel and moved to the palace. I have climbed the social ladder. Many years ago, I was just a high class girl. Now I am a courtier!
